Dr. Gaurav Jain

Dr. Gaurav Jain is a leading expert on the marketing of financial products and the author of the acclaimed book Money, Marketed: A Primer on the Marketing of Financial Products. He is widely recognized for showing financial firms how to grow in ways that build trust, improve conversion, and hold up under regulatory scrutiny.

Dr. Jain is a tenured Professor of Marketing at the Lally School of Management at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in New York. He holds a PhD in Marketing and Decision Making from the University of Iowa. His research examines how real investors and consumers make decisions under uncertainty - and how financial firms can design messaging, product positioning, and customer journeys that are both effective and responsible. His work has appeared in leading academic journals and has been featured in outlets including The Washington Post.

He is also the co-founder of YellowFryum Fin (www.yellowfryum.com/fin), a marketing strategy and growth advisory firm built specifically for financial services. YellowFryum works with asset managers, hedge funds, fintech and InvestTech platforms, and other regulated financial firms on positioning, trust-building communications, investor/client engagement, lifecycle marketing, and behavioral segmentation. Dr. Jain has advised organizations including YieldStreet, AdvisorHub, Energia, and AKRU, with a focus on building durable trust while navigating regulatory complexity.

Earlier in his career, he worked with global consumer brands such as Microsoft, Procter & Gamble, and Nike. Those experiences continue to shape his interdisciplinary approach to marketing - combining rigorous behavioral science with practical, performance-driven growth strategy.
